MOZILLA FIREFOX:

 

Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser. It has been lowered down from the Mozilla Application Suite. It is managed by Mozilla Corporation. Running it has become 2nd or 3rd most widely used browser. Firefox runs on many operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD and many other platforms.
Its features include tabbed browsing, spell checking, incremental find, live book marking, a download manager, private browsing, geolocation based on Google service and an integrated search system that by default uses Google on most localizations. Additionally, Firefox provides a surrounding for web developers in which they can use built-in tools, such as the Error Console, such as Firebug. Firefox uses a security model and restricts scripts from accessing data from other websites based on the same origin policy.

Advantages of Firefox:


Security: Use of Firefox block many websites from trying to install spyware and other mal-ware from getting onto your computer, which is common problem with other browsers.

Popup blocking: Firefox has a very good built in popup blocker that blocks all those annoying popups when you open up a web page.

Extensions: Firefox has many useful extensions as well as plug-in. They are additional features to the browser that adds functionality. They can be anything from new tool bar to a text to speech converter.

Excellent Interface: Firefox has a neat, simple interface that makes it easier to use and work on time consuming machines.
Free to use.

MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD:

 

Mozilla Thunderbird is open source, cross-platform email developed by the Mozilla Foundation. The project strategy is crafted after Mozilla Firefox.
Thunderbird aims to be a simple email, newsgroup and news feed client. Its work is fast, it can be customized and it handles IMAP email and identities better than most of its competitors in the desktop email client space.

OPENOFFICE.ORG


OpenOffice.org also known as apache OpenOffice.org is an office productivity software suite. Its main components are for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, and databases. It has originated in versions all years as OpenOffice.org 1, 2 & 3.

7-Zip is a free and open source file archive. 7-Zip operates with the 7z archive format. It can read and write several other archive formats also. The program can be used from a command line interface, graphical user interface, or with Microsoft Windows shell integration.
7-Zip is free software distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).
An open source alternative to WinZip and WinRAR is 7-Zip. 7-Zip is a file archive with a high compression ratio that can be used on Windows based computers with no limitation as to number of computers.

ECLIPSE:

 

Eclipse is an open-source community that develops open platforms and products. The Eclipse Platform is designed for building integrated development environments (IDEs). It can be used to create diverse end-to-end computing solutions for multiple execution platforms.

Eclipse is free software and well supported by a worldwide community.
Besides free open source plug-ins, there are also many commercial plug-INS available in the market.
The high number of Eclipse users and suppliers generate good network and synergy effects.
Development effort can be reduced by using the existing platform and available components.
 All applications developed on Eclipse easily fit with other Eclipse-based applications.
The Update Management is much comfortable and checks plug-ins for latest versions and uploads them automatically.

JOOMLA:

 

Joomla is a free and open source content management system (CMS) for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets. It is a model–view–controller (MVC) Web application framework that can also be used independently.
A content management system is software that keeps track of every word of content on your Web site. It is much like your public library that keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. It reduces our effort to manage the content.

Advantages of Joomla:

 

Joomla CMS requires very little knowledge for use. One can easily add content, images and can format text using the editor support in this.

Joomla provides support for many languages. This feature will give user friendliness to your website because visitors can easily view the content in a language of their choice.

If you have a group of people working on the same site, then Joomla is a solution for you. Different authors of the site can easily upload their content instead of waiting for programmers or Designers.

GIMP's product vision is that it is a free software high-end graphics application for the editing and creation of original images, icons, graphical elements of web pages and art for user interface elements.

Advantages of GIMP:

 

Gimp is completely FREE. Gimp is free, because it is being developed as an open source project.

Gimp is powerful and versatile.

You can open Photoshop files in Gimp. This means you can also use Photoshop brushes and patterns in Gimp.

Gimp is compatible with most operating systems. There are versions available for Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and Sun Open Solaris.

Support is easily available. Gimp has a strong community over the Internet, so you can always find someone to help you if you get stuck.

It is very easy to learn Gimp. Despite it‘s good qualities, Gimp can be a challenge to learn for a beginner. Learning to use any new software is hard (learning Photoshop is hard for beginners) However, there are still easy and fast ways to learn Gimp.
